Where do I begin??~~ I had such a great experience running this race!! Thanks to my awesome family for coming up and surprising me and supporting me.!!! I was so GRATEFUL for all of you to be there! Thanks to Shane Robbins!! Your the man baby!! He inspired me thru all the training and he and Ethan and Morgan were so supportive!!! I LOVED MY SIGNS TOO!!! I loved hearing Wayne on the video screaming for me over and over. That was so great!!! And getting a hug from April, Mom and Dad was such a rush! Thanks to Wendy for running those last HARD miles with me! You were so encouraging girl!!! Everytime I run I tell the Lord that I'm running for HIM and I love to worship Him while I run and pray. I could see His hand helping thru this one for sure!
I didn't even start the race until 7:45AM ( I was in coral 20!!!)so my time is 45 minutes off at the end, but it's right from my shoe clip on the race website. 6 HOURS AND 14 MINUTES. I felt really sad about my time. In my training I had completed 20 miles in 4 and a half hours, so I was hoping to beat 6 hours....just break it. Oh well. Next time baby!! The night before the race Shane and the kids and I went to a great pasta restaurant and Wayne and Erin surprised us there!!! That was incredible!! I yelled so hard when I saw them!! (Congrats to Wayne on his new position as "worship leader" in NY NY!!!) I tried to eat bland...spaghetti, but right before bed that night I finished off Shane's left over fettuccine and shrimp dish and the next morning before we left for the race at 6am, Shane was a little sick at his stomach with dirreah, and by the time I got to the race it hit me!!! From before the race started to about half way thru I had it bad!!! I'm sure my nerves were contributing also!! The entire first half of the race I was so sick at my stomach! I used the Porta potties so many times. I know all that hurt my time...whine whine i know!!! But seriously!!! Finally about mile 13 I stopped pooping and got in my groove!!!! UNTIL ABOUT MILE 21!!! By that point I was ready for it to be the end!!! I learned lots this first time!!! :) I will say, that I LOVED running this race!!! It was amazing seeing thousands and thousands of runners all together as far as you could see!! I LOVED it!!
MY friend Julie has been such a HUGE help to me thru all my training (since January) and she is an awesome runner and friend. I love her to pieces. She was running the half and believe it or not we passed each other going opposite ways!! It was the biggest rush!! What are the chances!? 30,000 people ran this thing!!
I have fallen in love with running. I have a long way to go for sure. To be honest, I have fallen in love with the long runs!! I def. want to run another marathon next year, and some halves this year. I've got to get faster first.!!! I am as slow as a turtle...I just love going the distance...just slowly! :) I want to fix that.
I really love looking at God's creation, listening to worship music, and being alone with my Father!! It is such a blessing to run with and for Him. He has blessed me and our little family over and over.
Before I stop rambling..I also gotta thank everyone sho kept texting me thru this one baby!! Thanks Traci for your encouragement girrly.....I loved my bath afterwards with all my goodies!!, thanks Shari for thinking of me that morning, thanks Julie....I kicked in in gear that last mile when I read you and your girls stopped and prayed for me!!!, thanks to my family!!! Enjoy the video my hubby worked so hard on!! Please excuse all my cellulite!!!! Praise Jesus for this one!!!
Much love and excitement!! :)
